Delivering Critical Equipment
on a Compressed Timeline
The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company’s Lawton plant conducts an annual shutdown to perform maintenance and install new machinery—an operation where every hour counts. With production downtime costing hundreds of thousands of dollars, the company only works with contractors who have proven expertise. For this year’s calendar roll change, Goodyear brought in CEI Crane & Rigging, a team trusted for its precision and experience.
A crew of ten—including foremen, millwrights, operators, and riggers—arrived on-site under an extremely tight deadline. What is typically a six-day, two-pass calendar roll replacement needed to be completed in just four days. Despite the aggressive timeline, CEI executed the work with the speed and coordination the project demanded.
In the end, CEI finished the entire project in two and a half days—less than half the standard time. Goodyear mechanical engineer Fernando Valencia called the performance “phenomenal,” noting that the accelerated completion even allowed his team additional time for quality assurance and troubleshooting before production resumed.
CEI’s millwright foreman emphasized that the success was due to the skill and experience of the entire crew, who delivered results far beyond expectations. For projects where timing, precision, and experience matter, CEI continues to be the team Goodyear relies on.
